Will two changes in one day be too much to handle for 22month old son?

I took my sons pacifier away from him today, and he cried himself to sleep this afternoon when he went for his nap. I'm going to stand strong and not give him a pacifier ever again. Now, the next thing I want to take away from him is his bottle. He only gets one bottle a day, at night when he goes to sleep. During the day he drinks water, juice and tea out of a sippy cup, normal mug, gl and water bottle. Will I be very cruel to take away his bottle on the same day I take away his pacifier? How long must I wait then with the bottle? How do I take the bottle away? Give him milk in cup before he goes to bed?
