Wuthering Heights, how could you relate the author's life and influences to this story?
Well I'm sorry that this does not entirely answer your question, but I think you have to look at more factors than just what her life and the book have in common. Though there are many similarities between the two, I think there is something else behind Bronte writing it. She and her siblings were all rather reclusive. Charlotte, Emily, Anne, and Bramwell all stayed in their house and read. They were very educated and well read people, but they stuck to themselves and each other. They were too immersed in their writing to actually socialise. And so because Emily was so well read, but had nobody but her siblings to talk to, I t think she created Wuthering Heights as her dream land, her escape, so to speak. It was only in her writings did she experience this pionate love, like that of Catherine and Heathcliff, so I think this could actually be one of the primary reasons Bronte wrote it. Hope this helps. :)
