Looking for a agent for a musical comedy and more NYC...does anyone know who I could contact?

I have called creative agency and william morris..they both need a referral unless I am already a top star. If I was at the top why would I be calling them? Anyone know where I can locate a agent/manager in NYC for theatrical music production?
