Is bronchitis contagious?

Bronchitis is not contagious in itself, it is a condition where the bronchi are inflamed and the airway may or may not be constricted. Although the virus or bacteria that caused the cough leading up to this point may be contagious Bronchitis can be caused by something as minor as allergies or something like smoking. The condition isn't contagious because it's caused by continuous coughing and until you get the worse coughing when you have the constriction and inflammation, you get phlegm. So no it isn't contagious but still needs to be treated by a doctor.
